Honestly, I could not be more proud to be included in Kevin & Mary Schoonover’s Artist Open House at their Flying Whale Studios in Geneva. I knew from the list of participating artists it was going to be a great event, but seeing the art in person when I dropped my hand stitched paper art off yesterday – blew my mind!

Geneva, NY is a beautiful town on Seneca Lake – the perfect destination for a drive with your Thanksgiving guests. It’s less than an hour from Rochester. And thank you for shopping local and supporting local artists!

Am I the only Rochester Artisan not participating in an art festival or quilt show next weekend??

I better not hear any human complain about nothing to do – because here’s plenty of events to keep you busy! Go fire up your GPS and get ready for an art-filled road trip! Oswego, Syracuse, Canandaigua, Spencerport, Caledonia and Rochester….

Ithaca Festival

The Ithaca Festival is a four day music and arts celebration, the premier event of its kind in Tompkins County. Over 1,000 talented local musicians, painters, dancers, clowns, community groups, and ensembles perform throughout the Ithaca Festival weekend. Enjoy multiple stages of entertainment, a special kid’s activity area, a sustainability expo, a craft show, a parade, and delicious festival food at various locations.

The Spring Craft show is a collaboration between the Ithaca Festival and the Downtown Ithaca Alliance. One of America’s best homegrown arts festivals, the craft show takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the downtown area on the Ithaca Commons.

Everything from photography to woodworking, from glass to clothing will be on display and for sale throughout the weekend. Browse jewelry, pottery, folk art, pet accoutrement and much, much more. Each year the Craft Show continues to be a huge success attracting over 100 crafters and artisans from across the greater North East region and beyond.
