Helping Shriners Help Kids

Rochester Artisans is excited to announce our partnership with the Damascus Shrine Masons of Webster for their very successful Cruz Night. Each Friday July 1 – September 9, we will have a rotating bevy of 12 artisans selling their handcrafted art. (Check out our Artisans page for a taste of the creativity you’ll find every Friday night.)

We became familiar with the Webster Shriners through a Art & Craft Sale held recently on their beautiful campus in Webster. We were very impressed with the work they are doing for children.

Shriners International is a fraternity based on fun, fellowship and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth. There are approximately 350,000 members from 191 temples (chapters) in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Republic of Panama.

Shriners International supports Shriner’s Hospitals for Children®, an international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs.

Children up to age 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children® and receive all services at no financial obligation to families.

Cruz Night is a fun-filled family event – lots of hot cars, delicious food and great music provided by radio personalities from WLGZ “Legends” radio. Check out the Cruz-in’ for Charity website for photos and more details.

The Shriners have a gorgeous campus, located at 979 Bay Road in Webster. There’s plenty of parking and all kinds of food available, from complete Fish Fry and BBQ Chicken dinners, to hot dogs, hamburgers, potatoes, beer, soda and water.

The Shriners raised almost $10,000 in the summer of 2010 for the Shriners Hospital for Children. We want to help them raise even more this summer! Please stop by Friday night, 5:00-8:00 – we’d love to see you!
