A Robin for Robin Sullins

~ Guest Post ~

Cindy Robin

Hello! My name is Cindy Ritchie and I’m a lampwork artist. I sell my beads, sculptures and artisan jewelry in my Etsy shop, Simply Cindy.

Last week a friend shared a story on Facebook about Robin Sullins. She is a Texas woman who was bitten by a family dog and has since contracted a terrible bacteria that has resulted in her losing her legs below the knee as well as nine of her fingers. She remains in the hospital and her story can be found on the website set up by her friends to allow others to track Robin’s progress and to collect donations to aid financially in her recovery.

As an animal lover I was instantly drawn into the story. I realize how quickly life can change and how easily terrible things can happen to wonderful people.

My first reaction was to make a donation to her medical care, but not having much money myself I have decided to create this piece of jewelry in Robin’s honor and donate the money from the sale to aid in her long recovery.

This little American Robin was created in the flame of my torch just yesterday. I think he is quite cute. I strung him on a seed beaded chain with little onyx rounds. All findings are sterling silver. The length is a little over 20 inches.

Thank you for allowing me to bring Robin Sullins’ story to your attention. I hope you’ll consider purchasing this necklace to support Robin’s recovery. Maybe you’ll want to make your own donation!

Warmly,
Cindy

    • It’s easy to get caught up in our day to day funk, but this makes you realize how fast things can change, and to live every minute.

    • Hi Deb!
I am so sorry it took so long to get back to you. I am fairly green at the blog scene and forget that I have to check back once in awhile. If you haven’t already…please do add a link. I am really disappointed that it hasn’t sold yet. I am pretty small time though, so if I had more exposure I’m sure it would have been snatched right up.

I hope all is well….I get caught up with day to day things and my mind is off in another direcction 🙂
