Today, Rochester Artisans announced our third online gallery on Facebook! I started this in 2014 as a way to share our artwork with the world, and if a submission is linked to the artist’s online shop, all the better.
I’m a big fan of themes for exhibitions. I think it’s a good challenge for the artists and it makes for a nice, cohesive show. January was Ice Ice Baby. February was Fifty Shades of Red. And now March is Birds of a Feather. As you can tell, I like less traditional themes. I was not going with the expected hearts theme for February or shamrocks for March. We are way more interesting than that. 🙂
I try to think of themes that I think are appropriate for multiple mediums. And I always state that the theme is open for interpretation, as loosely as desired. (If you have any suggestions for themes you’d like to see interpreted, drop a line in the comments below.)
I always set up the event as public so friends can invite friends. And the nice thing about Facebook is these galleries remain open beyond the end date.
