I’m very excited to introduce our new platform for entering reviews of craft shows and art fairs, in which you have participated! This is all thanks to the amazingly brilliant Henrietta Foster, of Adora Designs Artisan Jewelry.
The buttons above are displayed prominently in the sidebar, over there on the right, scroll down a little.
Here is the easy-as-pie fill in the blank review form. There is also a text field for any additional comments you’d like to add.
This information gets automatically populated into our big beautiful Google doc Show Reviews spreadsheet! You don’t have to do anything with the Google doc that houses the comments – just scroll back & forth & read! The information is entered automatically, from the above mentioned form.
This was developed for use by Rochester Artisans but anyone is free to add reviews via the form and read the reviews too. We decided this isn’t a bad thing because we’ve long felt that we’re all in this together – artists and show organizers. Each group needs the other one! I would like to keep it relevant to the western New York area.
On a related note, I hope you’ll check out our Biz page of this website. There’s a lot of good information there, contributed by Rochester Artisans. One of my faves is, “Artist Etiquette“, listing some ways you can be a coveted show participant.
My other favorite one is for show organizers called, “Happy Artists are Returning Artists“. We wrote this with the smaller show organizers in mind, such as for schools & churches, who use shows as fundraisers. We understand their perspective – raise money. We wanted to write something for consideration of the long-term success of their efforts. Very often the organizers of school shows, for example, change over the years and their children “age out” of the school, so this would be good information to pass on year after year.
I consider all of these documents I’ve mentioned, “living documents”, meaning they will be edited and updated over time. If you have additions to be considered, please leave them in the comments or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d love to hear what you have to say!
