Call for Art: Art Awake 2016

My name is Nadia Gribkova and I’m contacting you on behalf of ArtAwake, an innovative student-led arts festival sponsored by the University of Rochester. Now in its ninth year, ArtAwake brings together artistic and musical works of all kinds for a one-day celebration of creativity, held in an underused urban space in Rochester.

We wanted to inform you about this opportunity to show your work to the Rochester community. We ask all artists interested in having their work at the event to complete our submission form at www.artawake.org. We accept all kinds of creative work including art, music, theater, dance and installations of all styles and genres.

The deadline for submissions is February 8, 2016 and the festival is on April 16, 2016. Please visit our website at www.artawake.org to submit work and to learn more about ArtAwake. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hopefully seeing your submission soon!

Art Awake – April 18, 2pm- Midnight!

Back for its 8th year, ArtAwake is a student-run, one-day festival of creativity that will bring together thousands of students and community members to give life to an underused space in Downtown Rochester on Saturday, April 18th.

This year, we’re proud to host over 140 pieces!

The details of the event are as follows:
Location: 936 Exchange Street [The old Foodlink Building]
Hours: 2:00PM–Midnight

Ticket can be purchased in advance at the Common Market and Memorial Art Gallery, or on the day of at the site.

ArtAwake is organized by a team of students at the University of Rochester and is a collaboration of a myriad of local organizations. Since 2008, the annual festival has already transformed four vacant buildings in Rochester through the participation of hundreds of local artists and musicians with over 1,500 average attendees.

You know I love the concept of transforming vacant buildings into something useful. Check out where Art Awake has been held in the past.

2014 – Cancelled to due logistical issues.
