What is Zentangle?
The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.
Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over this world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages.

How did I start thinking about Zentangle today? I was on Susan Carmen-Duffy’s Create Art 4 Good website today and saw her blog post, documenting her own Zentangle creation, one line at a time. Cool stuff, check it out.
Also included are details for registration for her March 21, 1:00 Watercolor Zentangle workshop.

Susan Carmen-Duffy has a different theme for her gallery events each month – you can visit her Create Art 4 Good website for more information. Her February show, The metamorphosis of Love has a January 17 deadline – so you still have time to enter that one. I’m featuring the information for March’s Thaw exhibition for those who need a longer deadline. 🙂
Susan Carmen-Duffy’s 600-square-foot studio, in the Hungerford Building on East Main Street, is also home to Create Art 4 Good, an organization that supports both artists and those in need. She works full time managing the media labs at West Irondequoit High School but can be found at the studio most every day of the week, working on her own art, hosting workshops and curating a rotating monthly exhibit.

The mission of Create Art 4 Good is to support and promote artists actively working in the visual arts. Our mission is to not only foster artistic excellence and awareness but to serve those in need through the sale of our art. 20% from the commission from each sale goes to support a charity in the community.
Create Art 4 Good- is formed from a culmination of experience as an artist, advocate of the arts, sponsor of those in need along with a concentrated effort to give back to my community.
As a child my parents set a fine example of what it meant to put others first. Our home was an open door. We would often we have people who I didn’t know over for dinner, to stay with us temporarily or perhaps we would deliver food, clothing or some other form of support to them. This became a way of life. Even when financially things were the tightest in my family my parents always tithed at least 10% of their income to give to Charity. This is a foundation for how I view my opportunity to give back to others, to “Pay it Forward”.
Create Art 4 Good is open First Fridays 6-9PM, Thursdays 4:30-7:30PM and Saturdays 10-3PM.
