“Playing the violin helps me stay focused.”
“I feel proud of what I do.”
“It takes my mind off the negative stuff.”
“It stimulates my mind.”

(I know a few artists who could use a violin, if it helps with focus, she says, looking in the mirror.)

The String House is a proud supporter of the Strings for Success program. And Bonus! Rochester Artisan Pamela Frame is a teacher there.

This art opportunity came to me from the massively creative Linda Connor Cass, whose exquisite jewelry you can see on Loudee’s Jewelry.

Calling all artist friends!! Please consider donating art for a silent auction for this wonderful program!

The women that are behind this are so wonderful and dedicated, you cannot help but be inspired. 100% of the money raised goes to support this program. Let’s help our children have bright futures in the arts and learn the benefits of having positive goals for the future!!!

Email me with any questions – be sure to put Strings for Success in the subject so I can respond right away. You can also call or text me at 585.507.3306. Or just drop off donations at the Center of Youth (905 Monroe Ave). Please label all donations: “Strings for Success Silent Auction”

You can read more about the Strings for Success Program here, and about the May 26 Strings for Success Benefit 2015, including the Silent Auction for the art.

An Artful Weekend

The 5th Mayday Underground Crafts + Art sale is this Saturday at the Village Gate Atrium. I have participated in this show a few times, including the Atrium. It’s  very eclectic artsy space – I loved it. (For any of my artists friends who will be selling there Saturday – the old axiom definitely holds true here – you can never have too much lighting!)

Rochester Artisans is a sponsor for Mayday this year – and thus, earned a blog post spot this week. This little ditty has brought us 6-7 new members already just in the last couple of days!

Rochester Artisan Tanvi Asher is also a sponsor – check out her post about her spankin’ brand new Park Ave shop, Peppermint. Special note to my fellow paper enthusiasts – check out the dress in the window!

I usually do a better job of listing Rochester Artisans participating in this show – but go here for a taste of what you’ll see Saturday. I’ll be there most of the day volunteering and schmoozing – be sure to say hello!

But wait, there’s more! I’m not sure if I can, but I’m going to try to squeeze in this brand new show – looks to be super. I even saw a commercial on TV this morning. Sweet!
