The Birds are Back

Nancy Murty Exhibition

Artist Reception, April 9th from 4-7pm.

“The Birds are Back”
Avian inspired paintings by Raymond J. Easton and Nancy Murty

April 1st – 30th

P. Tribastone Fine Art Gallery
32 South Main Street
Canandaigua, NY

Gallery hours: Tues. – Sat. from 10am-6pm

Nancy Murty is an artist friend I met a couple of years ago, at The Hungerford, where we both rent space. (For an extra special treat, take a tour of her studio here.) She has a lot of spectacular talents and makes everything look easy. I think that’s largely due to her sweet personality, very easy going. Make no mistake, Nancy works very hard and puts considerable time into her projects. Nancy and her awesome graphic design skills are responsible for our Hungerford website. Once you’re in the building, you’ll see more of her work in our fabulous wall directories located on each floor. She’s designed brochures for us, holiday promotions and ads.

I’m also proud to carry her greeting cards & magnets at Fairport Pharmacy & Gift Shop. My mom recently bought several of her bird prints for her living room. I don’t know anyone who isn’t a Nancy Murty fan!

April 20th – June 6th from 9am-5pm

I have a new painting hanging in the ‘A Matter of Beauty’ show and I’d like to invite you to the Opening Reception on Friday, April 24th from 6-8pm. If you can’t make it to the reception, the gallery will be open from 9am-5pm daily from April 20th through June 6th. ~ Nancy Murty ~

Nancy Murty is a friend and a Hungerford neighbor. I’ve been a fan of her artwork since I became familiar with The Hungerford and now I’m a huge fan of her as a person! She is super nice, very funny and is always willing to share what she knows. I have a feeling that any time she sees something that needs doing she thinks, “How hard can that be?” Her beautifully tranquil studio is the envy of every artist in the building. She’s an amazing graphic artist who took on the rebranding of The Hungerford, a job for which we now pay her, thank goodness.

2014 Holiday at The Hungerford
Most of us credit Nancy’s beautiful design of the Holidays at The Hungerford “ornament” with increased sales this past holiday season.

She recently joined the bird banding team as their Scribe, at Braddock Bay Bird Observatory. You can read about her first day on her blog. She says she’s enjoying it because it’s something she’s doing just for her. I can’t wait to see what sort of incredible paintings come of all that hands-on experience!

The original painting above has already sold, but you can buy prints in her Etsy shop. We also carry her magnets & prints at Fairport Pharmacy & Gift Shop.

Getting to know Nancy has been one of the highlights of my time at The Hungerford.
