Corn Hill Arts Festival

I think Jen Born’s Corn Hill Poster should have been selected as the winner so I’m using it here instead of the one that did win, which is perfectly nice, but c’mon – this one rocks hard!

Last Chance for Outdoor Festivals

October can be tricky here in upstate New York. It can mean shorts & t-shirts or it can mean parkas and boots! That Mother Nature is such a hoot!

This weekend, October 8, 9 and 10, is forecast in the former – mid-seventies and sunny. It’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy all that NY has to offer. May I suggest starting with a hearty apple pancake breakfast at the LaFayette Apple Festival, south of Syracuse?

And Sunday will be a nice day for a scenic hour-plus drive south of Rochester to Letchworth State Park for the annual Arts & Crafts Show presented by the Arts Council for Wyoming County. If you’re lucky enough to have Monday off for Columbus Day, the show is open then too!

Wear your comfy walking shoes, top off the tank with gas – and set out on an adventure. Art plus scenic New York State – would could be better?

Check the websites linked below – and be sure to say hello to our Rochester Artisan friends who will be there.

The Out of Towners

Of course your definition of “out of town” depends where you live, right? Seems like a nice weekend to drive south to Naples and/or east to Remsen, NY. Both of these festivals have long histories – 31 years for Remsen and the Naples Grape Fest has been held since 1961. Besides visiting your favorite Rochester Artisans, there’s lots of other things to do. Why not make a day of it?
